International Clowns - Flippo Trippo (Italy)

First up is this amazingly titled FLIPPO TRIPPO figure from Italy. I saw this in a lot on eBay and I had to have it! Now I can't stop saying FLIPPO TRIPPO! FLIPPO TRIPPO!

If you scroll to the bottom of this blog post, you can see some ads for FLIPPO TRIPPO in an Italian magazine (along with some other sweet ads).

I even found two YouTube videos of people opening/playing with FLIPPO TRIPPO figures: this video shows an unboxing of the Clown Around Town Hall and this video is a fairly well done episode of life in Flipponia!

International Clowns - Canada

It wasn't just Americans who got to enjoy Clown Around - they were sold in other countries including Canada and Italy. I will update this post as I discover more international figures.

This Caleche (Calliope Cab) is from Canada. Dig that dual language packaging! Thanks to eBay user classie312 for these images.

School House

"Clown School is a quaint, one-room, red schoolhouse with a bell in a tower to ring for class. Comes with teachers and student clowns. Complete with 1 teacher's desk, 2 student desks."

The School House came with Our Miss Clown, Hookie Clown, two student desks, and one teacher's desk.

Clown Around Paddy Wagon

"This comical paddy wagon comes with cop and crook clowns to keep clown city safe. With Clown Around cop and Pugsey the crook clown."

In the image from below from the catalog, you can see Pugsey had a much different color scheme.

Calliope Cab

"The fanciful cab is used to escort the clowns around clown city."

The Calliope Cab came with Chauncey the Unicorn and the Clown Cabbie.

Clown Cabbie

C65 Napoleon Clownapart

One of the rare 2nd series clowns. Napoleon one of the cooler clowns. He does come up on eBay every now and then, usually in large lots.

C64 Long Clown Silver

Arrrr ye clowns! A must have clown for your collection! A rare second series clown. He comes up on eBay in lots, but he isn't a common clown to find. One of my favorites.

C62 Santa Clown

The last clown I got for a complete set! I would say he ranks as one of the rare clowns to find. I found my in a lot of clowns on eBay.

C59 Richard M. Clown

Ronald Reagan isn't the only president who received the Clown treatment. Here we have the 37th president, Richard M. Nixon, as a clown. I wonder why Mego neglected to make Gerald Clown and Jimmy Clownter figures?

C56 W.C. Clown

You won't see children's figures holding mugs of beer anymore. This one is modeled after classic comedian W.C. Fields.

C52 “Bo” Clown

Bo Clown (or Andy Clown, as he is called that on the back of the series two cards). He isn't the most common clown to get. He is holding a brief case in his left hand. In his right hand? A clip board? Wallet? Maybe he is a business man checking into a hotel?

C50 “Machine Gun” Clown

Named after Machine Gun Kelly, this figure was carded individually and in the Clownfathers three pack.

C49 “Bugsey” Clown

Named after Bugsey Malone, "Bugsey" Clown came carded individually and in the Clownfathers three pack.

C48 Al CaClown

Modeled after the infamous mob boss Al Capone, Al CaClown came carded individually and in The Clownfathers three pack.

C46 Earl D. Clown

Earl D. Clown came carded individually and in the Uptown Clowns three pack.
